Photography Navigator provides a simple and easy to use platform for both the Photographic Client and the Professional Photographer.

Our mission is to provide Insight, Education and Inspiration by providing pertinent information to the Intelligent Photographic Client about the photographic industry and an easy to use platform to find Qualified Professional Photographers in their area that are looking to provide their specialized and professional services!

We recognize that the photographic industry has undergone many changes in the past decade.  Many of these changes have been positive but a few have been rather negative.  One of the most negative changes in the photographic industry is the proliferation of non educated, unlicensed and unprofessional photographers working their way into the fringes of this fantastic industry.  These photographers and clientele that use their services are promoting this highly offensive and illegal activity, in which, both parties could find themselves being fined and/or prosecuted for such activity.

Unlike other Professional Photographic Associations, our main efforts (along with your help) will be to reach out and gain recognition with the general public; to find their interests in the professional photographic industry and alert them about our mission. We will do this via our website/blog, social media, email campaigns, as well as have a presence at bridal shows and other (trade/festivals) events where potential clients may attend.

Another one of our objectives is to shed light on some of the “Secrets” of the photographic industry. This information will help educate both the Intelligent Photographic Client and the Qualified Professional Photographer on how they might benefit one another.  We hope that both parties will assist us and our cause by providing us with some pithy questions, articles or commentary that many might find helpful or interesting about our fabulous industry!

The Photographers listed on our VIP list have registered and verified their business by providing  us with copies of their current documents consisting of their Business License (BL), Sales Tax Certificate (ST) and an Insurance Certificate (IC). These photographers will have a designation of (BL), (ST), (IC) depending on what information that they have provided to us.

When you are looking to preserve those precious moments please consider the photographers that are on our VIP list especially our SUPPORTING VIP MEMBER photographers.

Photographers taking ANY AMOUNT of money for their services are either “Part of the PROBLEM” or “Part of the SOLUTION.” If you are “Part of the SOLUTION”, please join us in taking care of the PROBLEM.

We invite and encourage all legitimate professional photographers to do their part and help us tame this Wild West atmosphere in the industry and level the playing field where talent and business expertise rule the day not low or below average prices, not really being a business and not collecting taxes.  "If you pay taxes, so should everyone else.”

Photography Navigator is neither endorsing nor recommending any specific photographer or company; we are simply providing a listing of licensed professional photographers by the documents that they have provided to us.
 
We firmly believe that the photographers on our VIP list and especially our VIP MEMBERS have provided us with legitimate documentation but there is no guarantee that the documents provided to us are neither fraudulent nor altered. If you have a question or concern we recommend that you ask to see these documents as well. Business Licenses (sometimes call a Business Tax Certificate) and Sales Tax Certificates are usually required to be displayed in a conspicuous place at their business location.
 
Photography Navigator strives to maintain our list regularly to be current and complete. That stated, we must advise all photographic clients that is possible that the photographer you’re interviewing may not be on any of our lists. This does not mean that they are practicing as unlicensed service providers; it just means that they may have not yet been contacted by us, or possibly they do not currently support Photography Navigator and our goals.  It is most prudent on your part that you ask your photographer when contacting them for services if they are licensed, have a state sales tax certificate, and are insured. Once you have decided to procure a company for services; ask them to verify your request by providing you the proper documentation.
